Polaris Sportsman 500

The Polaris Sportsman 500 is a hot seller. It is one of the most popular ATVs that Polaris makes and for good reason! The 498cc, 4 stroke, liquid cooled engine with the 399mm throttle body has the power to climb, dig in and get the job done nearly without effort. The Sportsman 500 has an electronic fuel injection system that gives you great mileage and that adjusts itself automatically to altitude and air temperature for quick and reliable starts.

When you need to descend a very steep hill, put the EBS or Engine Braking System to work. This gives you outstanding control when moving down steep inclines. The ATV will crawl slowly down the hill without you having to use the brakes. You can also get off the vehicle and walk beside it when you are not comfortable riding down.

The suspensions system of the Sportsman 500 is outstanding. The front MacPherson strut with 8.2 inches of travel and the rear with a fully independent and progressive rate with an anti-roll bar, gives you an impressive 9.5 inches of wheel travel. This means transversing very rocky terrain is smooth and traveling over mid sized rocks and tree stumps is a breeze.

The Sportsman 500 has a great layout on the instrument panel. You get a speedometer, odometer, tach, tripmeter, hour meter, clock, gear indicator, fuel gauge, hi/lo temp and battery lights and a DC outlet.
